Terms of Service

1. About Oramomo
Oramomo Inc. (“Oramomo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates oramomo.com, a technology platform that connects independent skilled service providers (“Artisans”) with people who need their services (“Clients”). We are based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
By using Oramomo, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. The Oramomo Platform
Oramomo is a marketplace platform — similar in model to Airbnb and Uber. We provide the technology that connects Artisans and Clients. We do not provide the services offered by Artisans, and we are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of those services.
3. User Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information during registration.
4. For Artisans — Independent Contractor Status
If you register as an Artisan, you are an independent contractor operating your own business. You are NOT an employee of Oramomo Inc. You are solely responsible for your taxes, insurance, licenses, and compliance with all applicable laws.
Oramomo charges Artisans a platform fee of 5% on in-app digital payments only. Clients always pay the Artisan's listed hourly rate. Cash transactions are completely free — Oramomo charges 0% on cash payments.
Example: Listed rate $100/hr, 2-hour booking:
- Client pays: $200 (your listed rate)
- Cash: You receive $200 (0% fee)
- In-app: You receive $190 (5% fee deducted)
Oramomo will issue a T4A slip to any Artisan earning $500 CAD or more through the platform in a calendar year, as required by the Income Tax Act (Canada).
If your annual self-employment income exceeds $30,000 CAD, you may be required to register for and collect HST. Consult a tax professional for guidance.
5. For Clients
When you book an Artisan, you are entering into a service agreement directly with that Artisan. Oramomo facilitates the booking and payment but is not a party to the service relationship. You agree to treat Artisans with respect and to honor confirmed bookings.
6. Payments and Refunds
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By making a payment, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service. Refund eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis in accordance with our cancellation policy. Contact support@oramomo.com for disputes.
7. Ratings and Merit Score
Both Artisans and Clients are required to submit honest ratings after each completed session. Ratings must reflect the actual service experience. Manipulating ratings through fake reviews or other means is prohibited and may result in account termination.
The Oramomo Merit Score is calculated algorithmically based on ratings, demand, completion rate, and platform seniority. No paid placement is offered. Rankings reflect merit only.
8. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Misrepresent your identity or qualifications
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
- Solicit Clients to transact outside the platform to avoid platform fees
- Create fake reviews or manipulate the ratings system
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer or copy the platform
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Oramomo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Oramomo's maximum liability for any claim shall not exceed the platform fees paid in the three months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
Oramomo reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or causes harm to the platform community. You may close your account at any time from your account settings.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Calgary, Alberta.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
